Dr. Mohamed is a food security and agri-food industry expert. Since joining the team in 2019, Dr. Mohamed has served as an advisor on a range of projects. He prepared the strategy and execution for a MENA region based sovereign wealth fund to further develop the Halal industry. Dr. Mohamed also helped position Dubai as a corridor for the trade of Halal products as Senior Advisor on the Halal Corridor project for DIEDC. He was also Senior Advisor of the IOFS report and of the State of the Global Islamic Economy 2020/21 for the food sector section of the report, for which he spoke at the Moroccan and Turkey launches.


Dr. Mohamed frequently speaks at industry events related to food security. He recently presented on the topic of “Building a self-resilient economy by improving domestic produce” for the MENA Food Security Digi-Conference in June 2020, as well as presented at a conference on the Future Technologies For Agriculture 4.0 and the Role of Governments in July 2020.


Prior to DinarStandard, Dr. Mohamed held executive roles in the Emirates Business Group’s Food Division, Al Hashimiya Group, Americana, and Sava DMCC.  He also helped establish the UAE Food & Beverage Manufacturers Group by setting a mission and organizing workshops and events like the Future of Food Summit in 2019.


Dr. Mohamed received his Ph.D. from Bordeaux & Lille University in France. His thesis involved analyzing the FDIs of 120 multinational firms in the agri-food business within the Mediterranean region, developing a strategy for food processing zones and industrial free zones, in addition to food and commodities trading.
