Emirates Airlines initiates first-ever In-flight mobile service

Emirates Airlines, one step ahead, became the premier airline to introduce mobile services on its Boeing aircraft, using the technology from Aeromobile, the technology experts. The passengers onboard can send text messages (SMS) and also make calls. Passengers, wanting to avail the service would be requested to keep their mobiles on 'silent' profile and minimize the calls during night flights.

Turkish Airlines expands with 2 more Boeings

Turkish Airlines recently received 2 Boeings, increasing the total fleet number to 110 whereas the number of Boeing 737 planes with the airline summed up to 55. The airline has 108 direct destination flights and is in its 75th year running.

TurkCell takes over Belarusian Telecommunications Network

Turkcell recently tied a strategic knot with Belarus mobile provider, Belarusian telecommunications provider (BeST), purchasing 80% stake worth $500 million. This investment will enable Turkcell to enter potential markets such as Belarus, where only 65% of its population uses mobile services. The payout of $500 million would be done in 3 phases.

Telkom Indonesia posted 5% profit decline in its first half

Telekom Malaysia ties expansion deal with Ericsson

Iran Khodro plans on exporting cars to Afghanistan

The company so far has exported 100 cars to Afghanistan and plans to export 1800 in the near future. The managing director of the company announced future plans of exporting 50% of its total production by 2016.

DP World and Port of Brisbane ink $40 million lease deal

Pakistan State Oil plans to purchase 910,000 tonnes of sulphur fuel

Kazakh and Chinese Oil giants sign gas pipeline deal

Egyptian General Petroleum announces plans of $9 bln oil refinery
