Climate,
labor force, political environments, economic
policies, regulatory environments, and available
markets - these are all among the myriad of variables
that affect businesses strategy.
One
of the key factors is also where to locate a business.
Location provides accessibility to suppliers,
buyers, and regional markets, as well as other
distinct competitive advantages based on the nature
of the city.
The
following profiles of 25 prominent business cities
representing 20 member countries of the OIC (Organization
of Islamic Conference) showcase some of the leading
business centers of the Muslim world.
The
selected cities are listed in alphabetic order
and do not represent any ranking. However, the
short list of 25 cities presented here is based
on evaluating select macroeconomic factors of
the 57 member OIC member countries (such as GDP
growth, literacy, FDI, export growth, etc.) Based
on the analysis, 20 countries were shortlisted
from which 25 key business cities were identified.
These
profiles aim to give brief snapshots of each city's
distinguishing factors as a business city.
The
profiles will be updated regularly with timely
and relevant information.
